Royal College of Art graduate and London based designer Per Götesson grew up in a placid, sleepy town in Småland, Sweden. After completing his BA at Beckmans College of Design, Götesson then moved to the city of London where he applied to the RCA through peer pressure but eventually found his own with the help of Zowie Broach.
After catching the eyes of Fashion East, Götesson created a buzz of excitement during this graduation show in June 2016, where just one day after he made his debut during London Fashion Week Men SS17.
Real-life functionally and the needs of people are the inspiration behind Götesson’s strong silhouettes reconstructed with languorous lines. In his debut collection Götesson reinterperated denim and his collection featured ultra-wide denim trousers with key-rings as the buttoning at the fly, from which objects can be hung, to his denim jacket with high-cut shoulders and raw was it, all crafted with the purpose to look small on whoever wears it. His collection alludes and accentuates functionality of the everyday man.
