The dancers from Theo Adams Company eerily performed their movements as Charles Jeffrey’s version of woman in black solemnly walked down the catwalk last season took a bright turn for his first standalone show this season. There was a high sensation when the dancers entered the catwalk, moving passionately all dressed in pink and staged in Gary Card’s new set design to complement Jeffrey’s collection this season.
The collection was an explosion of Jeffrey’s rich cultural inspirations including his own heritage Scottish visions. Colours were smashed into stripe jumpers, newspaper headlines turned into a t-shirt and flags jigsawed into a crop top. Jeffrey doesn’t usually stick with the conventional classic tailoring and his twists this season is no exception. From a screepy stripe jacket pinched at the waist in the back to a nervous elephant stripe suit jacket that walked down the catwalk dressed up as William Tell’s boy who had an arrow shot through an apple on his head. The Matrix coat was envisioned in yellow and the signature lace up boots were present as well.
Jeffrey depicted his visions and dreams into a collection named the ‘Portrait of a Loverboy’. The fantasy he envisioned was dramatic and sweet.
