“Women for Change”
Pioneering British menswear designer, Bethany Williams presented her Autumn/Winter 2018 presenation through ‘Women of Change’ a film with a poetic narrative, inspired by the woman of San Pantrignano and London College of Fashion, UAL’s Making for Change programme.
Created in collboration with the women at ‘Making for Change’, the collection demonstrates Bethany’s commitment to sustainability and sourcing. Knitwear from was created from recycled wool and denim, “Attenzione” electrical tape and wine bottle packaging were woven into practical and durable new textiles for the outwear, and the stories of the women she met were woven into a printed textile collage.
The film was made in collaboration with moving image director Crack Stevens (Akinola Davies Jr), and represents Bethany’s vision for a fashion industry that has the power to impact on people’s lives.
